Next Step Houses are "A Bridge Between Hopelessness and a Bright Future". In developing countries like Cambodia, thousands of youth stream to the capital every year in hopes of finding work and education. The majority of these young people come from poor villages and need foundational support to survive in the city of Phnom Penh. New Life Fellowship saw this critical need and decided to take action by creating Next Step Houses. Next Step Houses are a secure place for these young people to lay their head and call "home." Each house has a core group of believers who provide discipleship and a stable Christian environment.
Next Step Houses are open to believers and unbelievers alike, but in a matter of time most new residents are drawn to Jesus Christ and become strong disciples. All members of the house have voluntary morning and evening Bible studies, and most serve in the local church. They have an opportunity to study English, typing and office skills; while also making friends, growing in their responsibilitiies and finding their way around the city.
There are currently six Next Step Houses in the Phnom Penh area; three for girls and three for boys. Each house has about 25 residents. New Life is committed to provide an excellent environment to make disciples and train leaders for the future. If you would like to help empower the youth of Cambodia, we challenge you to invest into a Next Step House. You can support a Next Step House for $11,094/year
