Our vision is to give an avenue of assistance with medical problems that are beyond the capacity of the medical facilities in their local communities. Where possible, we also aim to provide basic healthcare services and basic health education to rural communities.
Patient Care and Referral is a follow-up project on patients that have been seen by a medical team or referred by pastors, leaders, healthcare assistants, or other persons. Many times, sick people in the village do not know where to go for help or they do not have the means to get the medical assistance they need.
We provide four main projects:
- Healing Home (HH): The HH is a short-term residential facility located in Phnom Penh. The purpose of the HH is to provide temporary housing to those from the village who are seeking medical care in the city and cannot afford to pay for personal lodging. The HH offers basic rooms and meals. Our staff also provide emotional and spiritual support by sharing Christ’s love, encouragement, and words of healing prayers.
- Short-Term Village Mobile Medical Clinics: we host medical teams from all over the world including Australia, Canada, England, and the USA regularly. In partnership with New Life’s network of churches across Cambodia, we are able to provide short medical clinics including physician assessment, dental check-ups, pharmaceutical prescriptions, and follow-up care to the HH if needed.
- Health Education Project: When there are Health Trainers available, we have them educate staff and medical people. We also provide health education and conduct medical outreaches where there are health care needs, especially in rural areas.
- Referral Center: we are a catalyst for connecting those in the villages who have healthcare needs that cannot be met by the village Healthcare Centers to clinics and hospitals in Phnom Penh. we help to provide transportation, lodging at the HH if needed, financial support, and medical referrals to partner clinics and hospitals. we work directly in partnership with the local church to provide this service.
